And that’s why you’re in business isn’t it? A website is an invaluable investment..assuming you have a good one.
If you don’t have a good one, then you’ve obviously thrown your hard-earned cash out the window. (Sorry, but it’s true.)
The problem is that most small business entrepreneurs don’t know the difference between a “good” and a “bad” website.
That means you run the danger of spending a lot of money on something that looks great, but it isn’t helping your business build up that bottom line.
A website should pay for itself, and then some.
Unfortunately, not every website out there is designed to do this.
One kind of website you can purchase is what I call an “online business card“. In order for a business card to work, it needs to be presold. That means the conversation that happens before the business card appears. The business card simply serves to give the potential client the information necessary to sign up for services later. If you have a business that generates clients only through referrals, then this is all you need. (Minimum effort, maximum gain.)
The other kind of website is what I call a “24/7 salesperson“. This website is designed and written to engage your potential clients in a meaningful way. It answers their questions, addresses their concerns, and triggers a desire to work with you. It also help you filter out people who aren’t the best fit for you and your services so that you can focus on the best clients for you and your services. By attracting the right people and selling them your services, it actively makes you money all day, every day. (This is what I do.)
